Matthew Legan Sanchez was born and raised in a neighborhood near you, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sanchez is a fifth-generation New Mexican that graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico, studying Business and Psychology.

During his time on UNM Main Campus, Sanchez worked on a scholarly research project with Derek Hamilton, Ph.D., in the Basic Medical Science Building of UNM’s Health Sciences Center.
The study explored the role that nicotine plays on one’s ability to process and retain new information. The study also examined the addictive nature of nicotine and the neurological benefits that one receives from nicotine.

Upon graduation, Sanchez entered Law school at UNM, achieving positions on both the Honor Roll and Dean’s List, while serving as a research assistant for Sherri L. Burr.

During law school, Sanchez worked as a legal clerk for Branch Law Firm, as well as Sanchez, Mowrer & Desiderio. Sanchez also served as an intern for the New Mexico Public Defenders.
